The Writing on the Classroom Wall

BIG NEWS!!! Today is the official release date of The Writing on the Classroom Wall!

Standing in my classroom in 1997, I was struck with a truth that was so unexpected and so important that I posted it on the wall of the classroom. Then I turned to the students and taught them what it meant. I called it the Big Idea. I had no idea that it would launch me on a search for more Big Ideas, which I continued to post over the years, until they eventually stretched across the wall of the classroom and deeply impacted our classroom community. Throughout my career, I collected concepts, truths, strategies, and insights without any notion that they would eventually turn into a book. Nineteen years after posting the first Big Idea on the wall, I’ve gathered them together, along with the strategies and stories that surround them, in The Writing on the Classroom Wall.

While I’ve written 13 other books that are all about math, this book is different. It is for educators of any subject, any grade in any role.
